Get extended security data

When you update your securities, you can fetch extended security reference data, such as fixings for floating-rate bonds, upcoming dividends, ratings, or different allocations. This scope of data depends on the market data provider.

You can find the list of securities and market data providers in Market data providers and security types.

Market data providers and security types

You can update the following security types from corresponding market data providers. You can see the specific fields that can be updated in Data mappings in FA Admin guide.

  • Bloomberg

    • Collective investment vehicles - C

    • Exchange-traded funds (ETFs) - CE

    • Debt instruments - D

    • Equities - E

  • Bloomberg issuer (Creates/assigns Issuer contact to Securities)

    • Debt instruments - D

    • Equities - E

  • Bloomberg splits/dividends (imports corporate actions)

  • Morningstar

    • Collective investment vehicles - C

    • Exchange-traded funds (ETFs) - CE

  • Stamdata

    • Debt instruments - D

  • EOD

    • Equities - E

  • Refinitiv

    • Applicable for all security types

Update extended security reference data for one security or a selection of securities

You can fetch extended security reference data by clicking Update security data at the bottom of the Securities view and choosing a market data provider whose data you want to use for the update. You can see the saved updated result in the Security window.

Schedule security data updates

To schedule regular updates of extended security reference data, go to ToolsAdministerScheduled functions. In the Manage processes window, choose a process to configure scheduled updates. To learn more about the scheduling functionality available in FA, see Scheduling settings in FA Admin guide.
