Capital call

The capital call corporate action allows you to easily mass-create capital call transactions on all your investors who have committed into your selected security, such as a private equity fund.

For a capital call, define the capital call as a percentage from the investor’s total commitment into the selected security. The capital call corporate action calculates the amount for the transaction with the capital call % you define and the total commitment from the position of the chosen security in the portfolio, and uses the unit price per share defined in the corporate action as the unit price in calculating the trade amount of the created transaction.

The capital call corporate action can be recorded to the system through the Corporate action window with the following information (a star indicates a mandatory field):

Security*

The security the capital call is created to. The total commitment of this security in the portfolio together with the capital call % will determine the amount of the capital call transaction created.

Currency

The currency the capital call is created with. By default the dividend currency is the security’s currency. When the currency of the capital call is set to other than the security’s currency, the capital transaction is recorded to your portfolios so that the capital call is calculated in the capital call currency and converted appropriately to security currency with the defined exchange rate.

Capital call %

The capital call %, i.e. how much out of the total commitment into the selected security is called. The percentage you define here times the total commitment from the position of the chosen security in the portfolio determine the amount of the created transaction.

Enter a number in the field, for example, "50".

Unit price per share

The unit price per share. This value will become the unit price of the created transaction.

Capital call ex-date*

The capital call ex-date. The capital call is calculated based on the total commitment of security in the portfolio on the dividend ex-date. This date will become the transaction date of the created transaction.

Settlement date

The settlement date of the capital call, i.e. when the capital call is actually paid to the portfolio. This date will become the settlement date of the created transaction.

Transaction type

The transaction type for the transactions to be created (if recording capital calls, select "PE - Capital call" or similar).
