Security data connectors
Security data connectors fetch security data from market data providers.
Establish connection
To fetch security reference data, you need an agreement with one or more supported market data providers. For more information on how to establish the connection, see the Market Data Connectors section.
For Security reference data, the selection you have for each connector in Tools - Administer - Market Data Connectors. you need to have Enable integration checked, and select one of the Price fields 1-3 or Only reference data.
Concepts to fetch security reference data
Two processes are used for fetching security reference data to FA. Both of them are dependent on established connections (mentioned above) and existing Data mappings.
Tools → Create security → Source
Here you create/update securities based on fetched Security reference data for one or many securities providing an identifier or a list of identifiers.
Security view → Update security data → Source
Here you can update security reference data for selected securities in the Security view.
Data mappings
Field mappings are administered through Tools → Administer → Data mapping for external integrations.
With FA you get a set of pre-configured standard data mappings for Security reference data. It is recommended that you do not change these standard mappings as they then will be overwritten at next code update.1
Standard data mappings and Update code fields.
If a market data source is set to update a Price field, then the corresponding Update Code# field is populated when you create a security by using Tools → Create security → Source
1/ If you want to apply another mapping, you have to create a new mapping and it needs to be configured in the processes using the mapping.
