Limit reports

You can use the limit reports (Limits (post-trade), Limits (pre-trade) and Limits (Investment plan)) to extract PDF reports of the limit analysis statuses  in your portfolios. See Portfolio limits for more information about how to use limits in FA.

Note

To use limit reports, you need to:

Generate the report in FA Back

To generate limit reports in FA Back, open the Report window and select Limits (post-trade), Limits (pre-trade) or Limits (Investment plan) from the report list, a portfolio or a group of portfolios, and "PDF" as file format. For more detailed instructions on how to generate reports, see Report window in FA Back Reference.

Report fields

Depending on which report you choose, the report contains the analysis results of either one type of limits or all limits.

  • Limits (post-trade) lists the post-trade limit analysis results.

  • Limits (pre-trade) lists the pre-trade limit analysis results.

  • Limits (Investment plan) lists the investment plan limit analysis results.

Otherwise the reports have identical content.

In order to use the reports, you need to first set up and analyze limits on your portfolio; the report shows the latest limit analysis result saved on the portfolio and does not check the limits when run!

Limits are shown grouped by type and limit group and ordered alphabetically. For each limit result, the following information is shown:

  • Limit name

  • Portfolio name (Portfolio)

  • Analysis date

  • Limit minimum value (Min)

  • Limit maximum value (Max)

  • Current value (Value)

  • Result (OK, warning or breach indicated with a symbol)
